We’re local residents who care about our neighbourhood and about bringing The Gorringe Park back to life as a proper community pub.
Between us we’ve lived here for decades, been part of street parties, planting days, school boards and parkruns — so we know how much this place means to people.
We’re not Project Gorringe — everyone who’s getting involved is. We’re just helping to coordinate things and keep the momentum going.
If you’d like to help, please get in touch. The more of us, the better.
Emily is a brand, comms and marketing professional specialising in purpose-led initiatives, transformation, and behaviour change. She’s been a Tooting Graveney (and Gorringe Pub) local for 20 years — and there’s not much she won’t do to make the neighbourhood that little bit better.
From street parties to tree-planting, junior parkruns to community runs, Emily’s usually the one with the clipboard, the snacks, and a plan. She’s also a school governor, a Merton Women Run group leader (with NEMCA), and co-event director for Figges Marsh junior parkrun, which she helped to kickstart. It’s given her a front-row view of what makes this community tick — and she’s determined to help keep the pub at its heart.
Greta is a surgeon and campaigner who’s lived in the area for 10 years, having grown up just up the road in Balham. She’s worked nationally on culture change in healthcare and co-founded a grassroots initiative to tackle speaker inequality at medical events.
When she’s not on call, she can usually be found on Figges Marsh with her dog — or talking to anyone who’ll listen about why local pubs matter.
Jonny is an interior architect who’s designed pubs and restaurants across the UK — but none he loves as much as The Gorringe. He’s lived in Tooting since 2002 and moved to Links Road just in time for the pub’s big 2012 reopening.
Over the years it’s been the setting for kids’ parties, big birthdays, and countless casual pints after dog walks. Jonny’s determined to make sure The Gorringe keeps those memories coming for the next generation.
David is an entrepreneur and long-time Tooting resident of over 25 years. He lives locally with his wife and two now-grown-up children, who were very much raised around The Gorringe — spending countless happy hours in the cinema room and at family gatherings.
When he’s not walking the dog on Figges Marsh, David splits his time between creative business ventures, sitting on various industry boards, and teaching self defence. Mostly, he just wants somewhere great to share a pint with the neighbours.
